SHREE SHAKTI TOURS - PRIEST-GUIDED PILGRIMAGES
India does not keep her holiest places behind glass. She lights a lamp at dusk, sounds a bell before dawn, and waits for you at the threshold.
Shree Shakti Tours creates priest-guided sacred journeys through living India. Every pilgrimage is received and led by Pandit Partha Paitandi, a hereditary priest and pilgrimage guide, rooted in the temple town of Bakreswar and in India's ancient Shaiva–Shakta traditions.
These journeys are made for travellers who want more than sightseeing: for temples and rituals, sacred geography and living traditions; for cultural encounters, spiritual conversations, local relationships and the quiet authenticity that only a guide of the tradition can open.
Something in you already knows this. It is the pull you feel toward a river you have never seen, a temple you could not point to on a map, a form of the Divine that your own tradition has no name for.
For three thousand years, India has been the world's great teacher of this pull: mapping it in stone, feeding it with fire and water and mantra, and perfecting the art of receiving the traveller who arrives with an open heart.
We do not sell sightseeing. We walk with you into the living tradition: through gates that only open for relationship, at hours when the crowds are gone, with a priest beside you who can explain every flame.
“Come with us not simply to see India, but to
enter into relationship with her sacred places.”

Living Traditions
Step beyond the familiar visitor route and discover the prayers, ceremonies, customs and everyday devotion that keep India's sacred places alive.
View the Journey →India’s holiness is not concentrated in one place. It is distributed (deliberately, mysteriously) across six great regions, each with its own deities, its own architecture, its own way of holding the sacred.
Fifty-one seats, scattered like fallen stars across the subcontinent, each one a place where the Goddess herself is said to dwell in the earth. Our signature journey walks the greatest of them, from Kamakhya’s hill to the fire-lit dark of Tarapith.
Enter the Shakti Peeth JourneyIn the tradition we come from, you do not begin a relationship with the sacred by asking. You begin by giving: flowers, fire, water, the sound of your own voice in mantra. The giving itself changes the giver.
In our Ritual Studio, Pandit Partha performs and explains the great offerings: from Rudrabhishek to Kamakhya Devi Puja, from the fire of the havan to the quiet vows of Pitru Tarpan: for pilgrims in India and, wherever possible, for participants anywhere in the world.
Priest · Guide · Keeper of Relationships
Pandit Partha Paitandi was born in Bakreswar, one of the Shakti Peethas, into a family of hereditary priests. He grew up inside the ritual life he now opens to travellers: the pre-dawn worship, the festival nights, the conversations with temple elders that no book can reproduce.
For over fifteen years he has guided pilgrims from more than a dozen countries through India's sacred geography: as a priest, not a tour operator. The difference is not decorative. It decides which doors open, which rituals are permitted, and what the temples become for you.
“The person beside you matters.
In India, it decides everything.”
Unedited, unhurried, and entirely their own: the pilgrims who have walked with us speak for themselves.

“I always arrive with questions. What I leave with is something quieter: a sense of having been received, guided and held by a living tradition.”
“More than a visit. Life felt different after walking with them.”
“The priest beside us made the rituals meaningful and personal.”
“I came home with a relationship with the places that I will remember for years.”
“We had space for a group of travellers and a sense of being welcomed.”
Every ritual you will witness is real worship, happening anyway: not a performance arranged for travellers. You arrive as a guest into a living tradition.
Your guide is an initiated priest from a temple family in Bakreswar, one of the Shakti Peethas. The tradition is not his subject. It is his inheritance.
Between six and twenty-five travellers: large enough to share the road, small enough that every question can be answered and every person known.
Priest families, weavers, temple musicians, village elders. Decades of relationship open the doors that guidebooks never mention.
Private pujas, closed ceremonies, quiet hours in crowded sanctums. Access earned through years, offered with care and respect.
Before, during, and long after the journey: a real conversation with a real person who knows the ground and the tradition both.
The questions travellers ask before they begin —
answered plainly, by the people who will actually be there.
